I posted my first blog posting on Cnet's Samsung Forum and the following is a reply from a Samsung representative.
Samsung has the worst support I have ever dealt with: AVOID

theputnam,
Maybe I can help. I can't promise such, but I'd sure like to give it a try, if you're willing.
Do you have the most recent transaction (RMA) number?

I posted the RMA# and then received the following response.
RMA #

theputnam,
Thanks.
I've sent that up this evening. Naturally, it's the weekend and I'm doing the "single desklamp in the office" duty tonight, but I've requested someone to take a look and see if we can get you squared away. It may be a few days, but if you don't hear anything in the next week, let me know and I'll be happy to follow up.
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.

It's funny because every time I talk to someone from Samsung they say if nothing happens in a week please call back. As you might guess I do a lot of calling back. Is there no one that can just get it done. I'm sure I've done more leg work and writing than anyone from Samsung. Not much actual service in Samsung's warranty service.

Damn..!!! I'm ready to leave to Sears and buy the Samsung LN52B750 (52") and also the 22" model for the bedroom. Per all my research Samsung is the best TV set. Seems like your issue is the TV power supply. Maybe they can ship you the part and you can replace it???? I'm also planing to get the extended warranty. You are supposed to use that after the manufaturer warranty expires (1 year).

ReplyDeleteWow, I understand. I am still sitting on a defective refrigerator since January. I purchased it from, the big, American TV. It is a Frigidaire. Contacted both companies as well as consumer reporting agencies; same bit you are dealing with. I wouldn't have thought Sears or any of the rest are any better.
ReplyDeleteI go through these cruddy issues and processes with other companies such as ATT all the time.
Bottom line, the consumer is getting ripped off for every small penny they make, everyday. Poor quality, no customer service, and high prices when things are suppposed to be cheaper, easier and improved. Sad...
I quit spending money, period, unless I have to. I guard it. I do not purchase extended warranties (been there, done that - another issue). And they wonder why the economy is tanked.
